Not Enough Sleep For A New Mommy

Ok...it happened, my daughter (Nichole) had her first freakout. The baby does have her nights and days confused a little. So last night Nichole came to my bedroom daughter crying "she won't sleep and I am so tired". So I went and got Dannielle out of her bassinet and took her to my room. It is true, Nichole hasn't gotten much sleep in the past 2 weeks. But that is all part of being a mom.

So what am I suppose to do. I am glad that she came and got me instead of, maybe, freaking out on the baby. I don't really think that would happen, but you never know.
It was the first time that she couldn't handle something since the baby was born, so I don't really think it is a big deal. But...I don't want to make a habit out of me jumping in and fixing the situation. That won't teach her anything except that if the tough get going then run and get mom. I have to teach her to figure it out herself. Someone is not always going to be there.

Tonight her sister (Jacquie) is taking Dannielle into her room for the night or the girls are switching rooms (Im not sure exactly) lol. See I think that is ok, because I did push Nichole to help Jacquie when Trystin was born. I think there was a secret agenda to having Nichole help when Trystin was born, I thought it would deter her from having children so soon. Guess I was wrong lol. I also think it takes a village to raise a child.

  1. She sounds like she needs help. Being a new mother is hard. I am sure even harder when you are a young woman. It sounds like you all are giving her great support and love. I know that will help! You are a wonderful grandmother:)

  2. Thank you so much for your kind words. Its not alway the case to get a little praise when your going through your teenager becoming a mother. Some family members have turned against us through this process.

Yes she does need some help and we (as a family) are here for her.

    Thank you again
