This Grandma Has No Time For Blogging

Wow ... it sure has been a long time. I so want to keep up with this blog. I really enjoy it when I'm doing it. But boy have I been busy. I have been taking care of my granddaughter every day while my daughter goes to highschool and work. I'm not complaining (she is such a good baby) its just time consuming. I think I kinda forgot that.
Well lets see...my grandson is 2 and 1/2 years old and my granddaughter is 3 months. It really is fun most of the times. But I must say I haven't really babysat Trystin since Dannielle has been born. I tried to babysit both at one time. Boy was that a mistake. That was way too much for me. Trystin is so into his terrible 2's and an infant. I miss babysitting him though. Oh and in the interm Jacquie and Trystin moved into thier own apartment. Big changes happening in this family.

Any Valentine Ideas for Children?

Hey does anyone have any ideas for Valentine's Day? Any crafts that children can do? Cards are a big part of Valentine's Day. When I was little (yes it was a very very long time ago) I use to love making my cards for my family. I use to do a snowflake kind of heart. I would cut out a heart (usually on white paper) and fold it up in many folds and start cutting out pieces of it.

Not Enough Sleep For A New Mommy

Ok...it happened, my daughter (Nichole) had her first freakout. The baby does have her nights and days confused a little. So last night Nichole came to my bedroom daughter crying "she won't sleep and I am so tired". So I went and got Dannielle out of her bassinet and took her to my room. It is true, Nichole hasn't gotten much sleep in the past 2 weeks. But that is all part of being a mom.

So what am I suppose to do. I am glad that she came and got me instead of, maybe, freaking out on the baby. I don't really think that would happen, but you never know.

He Acted Up So Bad...I Had To Leave The Mall

My grandson is 2 years 4 months old. Yes I know the TERRIBLE 2'S!!! But for it to get to me to that extent is strange. He has been and always will be the love of my life, but let me tell you, he is acting up so bad.

The other day we went to the mall. It was my daughter (Nichole), my grandson (Trystin), my granddaughter (Dannielle) and me. So Nichole had Dannielle in her stroller and I had Trystin in one of those shopping carts you get from JCpenny (yes I took the cart into the mall part so I wouldn't have to rent one) lol.

Should Grandparents Get Paid To Babysit?

I have been struggling with this for that last 2 years. I do charge my daughter (Jacquie) and her ex-boyfriend (Steve) for babysitting. I charge them if they are working or going to school. I don't charge if they are going out. Then I do the grandma thing. I charge them a minimal fee ($1.50 each). I feel they would have to pay a babysitter or a daycare so why not me? I live on disability so it does help supplement my income.

So now I'm facing another dilemma, do I charge my 17 year old daughter when she works?

I Am A Grandma for The Second Time

Well my daughter (Nichole) had her baby. My granddaughter was born January 16, 2010. She weighed 6lb. 11.4oz. and 20 inches long. Her name is Dannielle Elizabeth. She is absoulutely beautiful. I can truely say I am blessed with 2 grandchildren (Trystin and Dannielle).
Nichole was in labor for 36 hours. It was tough on all. Me, my husband (Dan), my other daughter (Jacquie) and the baby's father T.J. were all there the whole time.

Christmas Is Almost Here

Wow .... Where did the time go. I just started thinking of presents I want to give out this year. I as going to Kmart to see what they have for layaway purposes. I think it is the only store left with layaway. 

So what do you get a 17 year old that is pregnant? Do you get something for her, because she is still young, or do you get for the baby? There is so much out there this year for a 2 year old boy.
